About us

Neighbors helping dogs

Adopt Rescue Foster, or ARF of Cass County, is a volunteer-run dog rescue in Cass County, Missouri. Almost all of our dogs live with foster families until they find homes, and our Community Pets Program helps local families keep the pets they already have.

Our mission

At ARF of Cass County, our mission is to protect and advocate for animals in need while fostering a compassionate community that values and strengthens the human-animal bond.

We believe no animal should suffer the pain of abandonment, neglect, or unnecessary euthanasia. Through education, spay/neuter initiatives, community outreach, and programs that support pet owners, we work to reduce animal overpopulation and help more pets remain in loving homes. As stewards of this Earth, we are committed to preserving and honoring all life by promoting humane, responsible care for animals in our community and beyond.

What we do

Rescue and adoption

We take in dogs who need help and place them with foster families, with a few staying at our boarding partner, Lily’s Rescue Rehab. Every adoption gets a board review and a home visit.

Have room on your couch?

Foster homes are how we say yes to a dog in trouble. ARF covers supplies and vet care. You bring a quiet corner and some patience. Even a short stay helps.
